How to protect employees, guests of the HoReCa sector and nature during the COVID-19 pandemic? In December 2020, the PERETO Project drafted COVID Free Guidance for the HoReCa Segment of Kyrgyzstan with comments on sustainable consumption and production (SCP). The PERETO Project team is happy to present to the HoReCa sector and general public of Kyrgyzstan its COVID Free Guidance for the HoReCa Segment of Kyrgyzstan. It was drafted by the Union of Legal Entities “HoReCa Club Association of Kyrgyzstan” with support of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA), UNISON Group, Technopolis Group and Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (СSCP) as part of the Promotion of Energy and Resource Efficiency in the Tourism Sector of Kyrgyzstan (PERETO) Project implemented with the funding of the European Union SWITCH Asia Program.**

The goal set by authors of the Guidance was to provide the domestic HoReCa sector with as complete, useful and practical body of information to overcome consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic as possible.

All the relevant information was collected here:

  • all COVID-related legislative acts of Kyrgyzstan in effect;
  • excerpts from legislative acts regulating the HoReCa sector with necessary explanations;
  • awareness raising and educational materials as drafted by the Ministry of Healthcare of the Kyrgyz Republic during the pandemic;
  • self-assessment checklists;
  • recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO);
  • a glossary of terms and definitions;
  • useful links to relevant informational resources, etc.

The Guidance is unique in that its pages contain comments with practical environmental tips on sustainable consumption and production (SCP) (see green-leaf-noted informational segments in the Guidance). The PERETO Project is aimed at the promotion of energy and resource efficiency in Kyrgyzstan, and we therefore, hope that these recommendations will help the HoReCa sector minimize waste, electrical energy and water consumption, apply attenuated household detergents and domestic chemicals used for disinfection of territories, premises, and dishes, use reusable masks instead of single-use ones, etc. The COVID Free Guidance was prepared in two languages – Kyrgyz and Russian – and was made publicly available.

The Russian version of the Guide can be downloaded here, the Kyrgyz version – here, and has been made available on social media of the PERETO Project and the HoReCa Club Association of Kyrgyzstan. Or, you can contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] and we will send you an electronic version of the Guide (in a PDF format). We will be happy to receive your feedback!
