Electricity is one of the most important and consumed resources by humankind. Hotel rooms are generally equipped with air conditioners, TVs and other electrical appliances.
The air conditioner consumes tremendous amounts of electricity. Sometimes hotel guests may go for a walk leaving the AC turned on, or leaving it working with open windows or balcony. In such cases, the electricity consumption is high and inefficient.
Another sort of unproductive expense is lighting. It occurs when hotel guests simultaneously switch the lights on in all rooms or keep them on when leaving their rooms. There are many other examples of “unnecessary” expenses in the HoReCa sector.
Some overseas hotels found the solution by installing smart energy-saving switches. It operates similar to a simple energy-saving device: all electrical appliances could be used in the room as long as the key card is inserted into the energy-saving switch. The power will switch off after 10-30 seconds after removing the card from the switcher.
The smart energy saving device could be activated only by using the key card owned by that particular hotel. Certain room appliances may be activated depending on a cardholder - guest card or hotel staff card. For example, the guest key-card activates all devices inside the room, the maid’s key-card activates the main light only and one outlet to connect a vacuum cleaner and clean the room without turning other devices.
The smart energy-saving key-card is used to switch on the electrical appliances and is an ideal solution for hotels, motels, boarding houses, sanatoriums and hostels. The energy-saving key-card with pocket is installed jointly with VingCard access control and management system. Energy-saving switch that controls the electric circuit typically includes lighting and other electrical appliances except for refrigerators and minibars that must be powered at all times.
