Currently, the Issyk-Kul region is the leader in the number of objects in the HoReCa sector and tourism (hotels, guest houses, hotels, yurt camps, ski resorts, restaurants, cafes and teahouses) that have installed equipment based on renewable energy sources (RES). This was announced by the leading engineer of “Unison Group” Zhanybek Kulumbetov following the results of the training “Implementation of sustainable production and consumption (Sustain. Prod. Consum.) measures, as well as energy and resource efficiency (ERE) for the development of the HoReCa sector in the Kyrgyz Republic” within the framework of the PERETO project.

According to experts, this is due to the fact that the Issyk-Kul region has a large number of tourist facilities, access to technology suppliers, as well as equipment installation specialists.

Engineer Zhanybek Kulumbetov noted that businessmen from the HoRECa and tourism sector of Issyk-Kul already have considerable experience in the implementation of "green" technologies and now want to improve the equipment that they installed earlier, in other words, to use the potential of innovation to its fullest.

“We conducted trainings in the cities of Cholpon-Ata, Karakol, as well as the villages of Jyrgalan and Kyzyl-Suu. As a result, even more entrepreneurs expressed a desire to start introducing "green" innovations at their facilities. At the moment, a comprehensive insulation of the Duet-Meeting-Point cafe in the city of Karakol has been carried out, now it is at the stage of introducing the following measures (ERE). In addition, one object in the Ton district is insulating the building, others are at the preparatory stages. It is noteworthy that some businessmen of the Issyk-Kul region even come to our office to get technical advice on the implementation of Sustain. Prod. Consum. and ERE measures at their facilities” the expert noted.
