Cafe-Chaikhana Pamir in Osh is another successful example of the implementation of green technology in HoReCa
17-08-2022

The owner of Pamir explains how he manages to improve customer satisfaction while cutting costs and air-polluting emissions.

The 300-square-meter Pamir Café-Chaikhana in Osh has been serving up traditional national food to its guests for more than ten years. During this period, the building gradually deteriorates, the iron roof heated up quickly in the summer, and the hall became stuffy. Incandescent light bulbs were installed everywhere, and the electric bill increased yearly.

It is a typical image of the hospitality industry in Kyrgyzstan, where the usage of energy-intensive equipment results in high prices to provide comfort on cold and hot days. As a result of climate change, there are an increasing number of these days each year. Our specialists in Kyrgyzstan assist businesses in resolving these issues by implementing energy efficiency solutions with free consultations.

In 2021, PEEREA regional consultant Nurlan Irisov visited Pamir and spoke with cafe owner Ibragim Rajapov about the benefits of implementing energy- and resource-efficient procedures. After some consultations about green technology and energy-saving measures adoption, in 2022, installation and repair work started.
The ceiling and floor were both insulated with mineral wool and 5 cm of foam plastic, and the original windows have changed out with plastic four-chamber windows with double glass. Old incandescent bulbs were replaced with LED lighting in the cafe.

Ibragim Razhapov said, "We hope to have warmth this winter. Winters were chilly, and summers were hot. Customers now enjoy more pleasant surroundings thanks to the renovation. The hall is now brighter, we use less electricity, and the costs have decreased by 50% since all the bulbs changed. We appreciate PERETO's cooperation and recommendations ."

According to consultant Nurlan Irisov, the Pamir Café-Chaikhana intends to switch to gas heating during the winter to prevent harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
