Tourist businesses in Karakol are adopting green technologies and taking better environmental care
25-07-2022

PERETO consultant in Karakol Ular Kokoev discussed the success of two guest houses.

The "Sayakat" and "Hotel 78" guest homes have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
On the road to the ski resort, "Sayakat" is a popular destination for travelers and has been serving the tourism industry for more than ten years. Both locals and visitors from abroad make up the majority of its visitors. Although the guest house contains 15 beds, it requires a lot of electricity to run.
Ular Kokoev said, "In Karakol, year-round tourism has grown. Investors are eager to fund "green" innovations. They have a particular interest in renewable energy sources because they don't release harmful emissions into the environment. The Sayakat guest home, for instance, will soon have a solar collector installed ."

Another hotel, Hotel 78,opened its doors in November 2021. The two-story building has 30 bedrooms and is far more energy efficient than typical tourist accommodations, thanks to its extensive insulation. There has already been a variety of resource-saving technology implemented, including Teplophon infrared heaters in the hallways and temperature control on the heating radiators.

Ular Kokoev continued, "They already have clients from the CIS and Europe. The owners are interested in applying "green" technologies. They want to employ solar energy to conserve energy and lessen environmental harm."

More than 100 tourists have been consulted in Karakol, and 25 memorandums of cooperation with PERETO have been signed.
