PERETO assists small and medium-sized enterprises in the HoReCa sector in Issyk-Kul are introducing "green" technologies
05-07-2022

The tourist season in 2022 in Issyk-Kul is going well. In boarding houses and rest houses there is already a large number of not only domestic tourists, but also citizens from neighboring countries - Kazakhstan, Russia and others. In addition, mountain tourism in Issyk-Kul is rapidly developing this year. For example, tours in the Semenov Gorge have become popular.

“In the place where the games of nomads used to be, entrepreneurs opened the so-called Ordo of Nomads with great conditions provided for tourists. At the same time, businessmen are trying to implement the principles of sustainable consumption and production. Dustbins were installed near the yurt camps to preserve the environment,” said Kubanychbek Baitikov.

Despite the fact that the prices for accommodation and meals tourist sites in Issyk-Kul have increased this year, there are quite a lot of vacationers. The expert explains the rise in price by the increase in electricity prices for commercial facilities: the tariff is 2.52 som/kWh, as well as by the need to increase wages for staff.

The PERETO project is now actively working in the hospitality industry. Thus, according to the presidential decree on the construction of purification facilities in guest houses and boarding houses, the owners are seriously concerned about the installation of this energy-efficient and resource-saving equipment.

PERETO signed a memorandum of cooperation with "Imarat Resort" recreation center: a purification plant for 75 cubic meters per day will be built in the recreation center. It will be designed to serve 400 people.

In the “Royal Beach” recreation center the process of construction of a 300 m3/day purification plant has already been completed. It is designed for 1.5 thousand people.

Thus, thanks to the advice of PERETO expert Kubanychbek Baitikov, among small and medium-sized businesses in the HoReCa sector, the level of awareness of "green" technologies is increasing. More and more tourist sites want to switch to year-round operation and implement energy-efficient measures.
